Matcha is definitely a “trending” food right now that you can find in coffee shops and stores, and for good reason! Unlike green tea, it contains nutrients from the ENTIRE plant leaf. This gives it more caffeine and antioxidants, which lets be honest we can probably use a little more of both of these with as crazy of a year 2020 has been. Here are some of the health benefits matcha has to offer:
-may protect the liver
-high in antioxidants
-can prevent cancer
-boosts brain power
-helps with weight management
-supports heart health
-reduces inflammation
-supports healthy skin
-aids in digestion
As you can see there are a lot of reasons to incorporate matcha into your diet, and the great thing is it can be easy to prepare and very tasty. Below you will find a recipe for a matcha smoothie bowl. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
